Stephanie has been teaching beginning and intermediate piano for six years to students of all ages. She loves working one-on-one with students to achieve their music goals, whether that be learning the great works of traditional piano repertoire, mastering the basics of music theory and composition, or simply to enjoy playing songs they love. Her greatest strength, aside from a love of the piano, is her ability to develop a positive, constructive relationship with her students. This is based on a desire to see her students progress and find just what they need to continually improve and succeed.
Stephanie studied piano for eleven years under a variety of teachers, including Annette Conklin (Coordinator of SPCO Youth Chamber Music Competition), and Paivi Ekroth (collaborative pianist and staff member at the University of Notre Dame). Though she received her B.A. in Liberal Arts rather than music, she’s been actively playing the piano for over ten years in paid and volunteer accompanying positions.
